Meet Sarah. Sarah is a UIS Senior who has been involved with the CSF outreach team this year. She's leading a team of students who are being intentional about starting spiritual conversations and building relationships on campus!
Your gifts to CSF help enable students to be creative about reaching the campus with the Gospel! Give to our Year-End Challenge at www.uiscsf.org/year-end-challenge.html
It's an encouraging thing when college students understand their mission to reach their campus with the Gospel. But when International students get on board with the mission, things get really exciting!
The CSF Year-End Challenge gives us more opportunities to reach out to all kinds of students at UIS!
Our CSF Set-up crew arrives at Lincoln Residence Hall on Mondays at 6pm to start setting up lights, soundboard, backdrop, and getting the computers ready for our 9pm worship service.
CSF's Year End Challenge goal of $9,000 will help us continue to engage a digital culture by providing for technological needs like computers, lighting and sound equipment. to the Year-End Challenge at www.uiscsf.org/year-end-challenge.html

This week at The Edge, Lindsey challenged us to think about HOW we pray....and HOW we fast. Even though Jesus talks about doing it in private, it doesn't mean we shouldn't do these things corporately, as a community.
That's EXACTLY what we're doing this THURSDAY, November 9th!! At 9am, we'll be meeting at the Colonnade (or "fountain", for you less fancy people...) to pray together. This will also serve as a great way to kick of a Sunrise-to-Sunset community fast from food, as well. At 5pm, we'll come back together in the PAC Food Emporium to break the fast and have dinner together. Whether you're new to prayer and fasting, or just need the accountability, we hope you'll join us!
Check out the Fasting Journal below to guide your day.....
"Coming to college at UIS was an extremely emotional and nerve-racking experience for me because, much like every other college Freshmen, everything I knew had suddenly changed. I was thrown into a pool of people that I barely knew and hardly had anything in common with, which left me feeling extremely lonely. I never expected to gain such personal and Christ-centered relationships at Fall Retreat, but the amazing people I met left me feeling like I finally had a community at school that I could rely on for both my intentional Christ-centered relationships and just basic life events that I could share with others. At fall retreat I not only learned how important it is to build a community of people that can be positive Christ-following influences, but also how important it is for me to be a positive Christ-following influence." - Sophia Richmiller, UIS Freshman (2nd from the right)
"I'm glad I went to CSF Fall Retreat because I was reminded that there is a huge difference between knowing the word of God and actually acting on that knowledge. I also realized that the grace, word and the love of God compel us, it decide our action and my father would always be there for me in time of my needs." Akin Akinkummi, International Student from Nigeria.
It's amazing what God can do when we get away. Join us for a weekend of worship, spiritual growth, ridiculous fun, and sticky s'mores. Sign up at The Edge!
